Education Chief Pushes Child COVID-19 Vaccination

Parents in Vance County were triggered last week by a memo posted on the school district's website. It urged to vaccinate children 6 months and older with the latest COVID-19 booster.

The memo resembles other CDC vaccine promotions, and it links back to the agency in several paragraphs. It is signed by State Superintendent Catherine Truitt, although the statement may have been released with the help of Democrat Governor Roy Cooper’s appointed health chief.

Getting vaccinated is especially urgent, the memo reasons, because of a predicted uptick in COVID cases. In another version of the memo, the Superintendent says the guidelines should be shared with parents anxious about COVID-19 transmission.

Understandable, perhaps, but is pushing vaccines to every school district the right solution to fix the challenges? No, it is not.

Out of all the public health organizations in America, the CDC is one of the least trusted. Perhaps the Superintendent is unaware of the ludicrously reckless statements made by CDC leaders in the past few years.

Dr. Rochelle Walensky

Remember when CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said, “Vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick?" She said this as Biden pursued his tyrannical mandates.

A few months later, Walensky caught COVID while fully vaccinated. Did it stop her CDC from gaslighting the public about the efficacy of the shot? Not a chance.

Then, in the summer of 2022, Walensky assured the public that vaccines were perfectly safe for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

This was while the vaccine had an Emergency Use Authorization. That means it was being used off-label and without proper trials in humans.

Walinsky also ignored the open letter signed by over 16,000 doctors from 27 countries expressing serious concerns about the long-term risks of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines for children.

Finally, on her way out, Walinsky admitted that the CDC was “responsible for some pretty dramatic, pretty public mistakes,” but only after the damage was done.

CDC’s new director is North Carolina’s former director of health, Dr. Mandy Cohen. Like Walinsky, Cohen is a serial spreader of misinformation.

In the early days of the virus, Cohen claimed that masks were one of the “strongest tools to slow the spread.” Three months earlier, public health officials had said masks were one of the weakest tools to slow the spread.

During Christmas in 2021, Cohen pled with North Carolinians to mask up and vaccinate:

Cohen’s pathetic plea came eight months after the Annuls of Internal Medicine published a study showing what most already knew: The difference between mask-wearing and non-mask-wearing was statistically insignificant when it came to catching COVID.

There were several other similar studies during that year showing that masks were little better than worthless for prevention.

Most disturbing, Cohen’s Tweet came five months after the CDC published a review that showed 9,246 adverse events reported among adolescents aged 12 to 17, including 863 serious events, 14 deaths, and 397 reports of myocarditis.

Surely Dr. Cohen read the CDC’s website, right?

CDC's weaponization by the Biden administration and the far-left is undeniable. Last year a congressional investigation found that the CDC overrode routine practice to allow a radical teachers union to rewrite official agency guidance and needlessly delay school re-openings.

Why would Superintendent Truitt lend her signature to any, CDC-linked memo?

From a public health perspective, Truitt's willing dependence on the CDC is problematic. In reality, she too is a shill for this dangerous vaccine.

Politically speaking, distributing this memo could be a death knell to the Superintendent’s re-election campaign.

Staying up-to-date on CDC recommendations for vaccinations and masking is not exactly a priority for the Republican base Republican. A Pew poll reports that 7 in 10 adults who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine identify as Republicans.

Popular right-leaning news sources like Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, and Glenn Beck often discuss their own reservations about vaccines and the CDC. Many of the CDC's claims are refuted by doctors and scientists on these programs.

Republicans aren’t the only ones questioning the CDC. 61% of Americans doubt the CDC’s claim that vaccines have saved millions of lives according to another recent Pew Poll. 72% believe that the risks of serious side effects from vaccines are unknown.

These poll results could reflect a lack of trust in the government or pharmaceutical companies.

Whatever the reason for skepticism, it is clear that people are less likely to trust the CDC when it comes to vaccines.

Whether she knows it or not, Truitt is revisiting a trauma-inducing question for parents: Should superintendents and school boards start following CDC guidelines again?

The answer is no.

Vaccine safety for children is a hot-button issue for Republicans. Truitt's stance on the issue aligns perfectly with key Democrats like Governor Cooper, CDC Director Cohen, and President Biden.

The Superintendent shouldn’t be surprised when she’s barraged by pointed questions about her positions while she’s out on the campaign trail.
